Academic Classes

We offer a series of academic classes designed to build strong foundations in vocabulary, reading, and writing. Our programs are structured, academically rigorous, and taught in small groups to ensure personalized attention and steady progress.

PEG Vocabulary Course (Wordly Wise 3000)

Textbook: Wordly Wise 3000 — a widely used vocabulary series adopted by many top private schools in the United States. This program covers core academic vocabulary commonly seen across K–12 and frequently appearing on standardized tests such as the SSAT, SAT, and ISEE.

Course Structure:

12 books (Book 1–12)
Each book is taught as one session (15–20 lessons)
Classes meet once per week for 60 minutes
Paper-based homework and short online quizzes

Target Students:

Grades 1–11 students who want to expand their vocabulary and improve reading comprehension
Students planning to apply to U.S. private schools within 1–3 years
Private school students whose schools do not have a structured vocabulary program
Public school students preparing for MAP, i-Ready, SOL, or similar tests
International students preparing for U.S. school applications or English exams

Small classes of 3–6 students, online via Zoom

PEG Classical Roots Course (Greek & Latin Roots)

Textbook: Vocabulary from Classical Roots (Educators Publishing Service), a rigorous curriculum focused on Greek and Latin roots and affixes. This program is commonly used in accelerated and gifted programs in the U.S.

Course Structure:

Books: 4, 5, 6, A, B, C, D, E
Each book is taught as one session (16 lessons)
Classes meet once per week for 60 minutes
Paper-based homework and online quizzes

Target Students:

Grades 3–11 students who want to strengthen vocabulary and reading skills
Students preparing for ISEE/SSAT within 1–3 years
Students without a formal roots/vocabulary curriculum
Students preparing for standardized tests

Class Format:

Small classes of 3–6 students, online via Zoom

Approach:

For lower grades, we teach writing through a five-step process:

Prewriting → Drafting → Revising → Proofreading → Publishing, helping students progress from sentence writing to structured paragraphs.

For upper grades, students learn how to develop ideas into multi-paragraph essays, organize logical arguments, and adjust tone and structure for different purposes and audiences. Instruction is practice-based, with detailed teacher feedback.

We also offer a targeted ISEE/SSAT Writing module, which includes:

Common prompts and past exam questions
Time management strategies
Essay structure and organization
Writing templates for test conditions

18 lessons per session
Classes meet once per week for 60 minutes
Regular writing assignments with personalized feedback

Target Students:

U.S. K–12 students who need additional support in writing
International students who want to improve their writing

PEG Reading Course (Classical Literature)

Our reading classes focus on building reading comprehension, vocabulary, discussion skills, and analytical thinking through classic children’s literature.

Sample Books:

Magic Tree House series — for younger students building reading fluency and comprehension
Charlotte’s Web — a classic novel used to develop deeper reading comprehension and discussion skills
Number the Stars — for historical fiction and comprehension
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone — for longer novel study and analytical discussion

Weekly 60-minute classes
Reading comprehension, vocabulary, discussion, and writing responses
Small group discussion format

Target Students:

Early elementary to upper elementary students
Students who want to strengthen reading comprehension and vocabulary
International students building English reading ability
